Ty, I will contact wocca soon...

My problem is very serious: I have friend in Chengdu, I know evrything in the Univ etc...
A year in China is very long. I can not choose Kunming without any kind of information.

Maybe I'm gonna stay 6 months in Chengdu then I will use some days to check Kunming and it's University etc...

Ty Wocca, I think I will come to Kunming.

Just few questions more:

Wich is the main university for foreigners? It's Yunnan Univ right? I'm plannin' to study for a year chinese (as I did before).
Another question: how much for an appartment next to the Univ? I do not want somethin' to expansive..

Ty WOCCA!

You know what Diego - I was JUST about to ask exactly the same question!

I am thinking of going to study in China for a year this September and am thinking Chengdu or Kunming at the moment and wanted to know more about the 2 cities - their pros and cons, things to do, people, weather, local dialects, good universities, the arts, nightlife etc etc.

If anyone else can help on this, that would be great.

Could you tell me more about your time in Chengdu, what it's like to live in the city, how easy it is to make chinese friends, nigtlife, places to travel nearby. Have you enjoyed living there?

And what university are you at - sichuan university? Are the mandarin classes good?

Cheers!

Chengdu is a good city.. Ppl there was very warm and polite with me. The Sichuan University is good and very big. The food is very deliciuos! Nightlife is not as good as BJ.. But I mean the capital evreywhere is more vital then most of the cities of the country.
Wheater is not good like, for exp, Kunming or others sounthern cities, but for me it was not a big problems (I live near the alpes),instead for other student sometimes it was a problem...
