Non US citizen with H1B visa, sent by an american company to china
May 12, 2011 09:32
guest31512 I am currently working in the US with an H1B visa. The company gave me an offer to go to china for 2 years.
1) My base salary will be $85,000
2) The foreign service incentive is $10,000
3) Hardship allowancec (25% of base) = $21,250
4) Goods and service differential = $11,916
5) rental deductions = -$15,828
6) Hypothetical income taxe = -$11,534

Is the hypothetical income taxes correct? will i have to pay more taxes or thats it? i do not have any other source of income. How will i be taxed? based on what? will the company cover any of the taxes? will i pay taxes on the whole package or just the base salary?

Can someone please explain to me how much will i have to pay taxes per year?

Thank you

I'm not clear about it. But I'll try to answer some of them.

First, the personal income tax is paid monthly and the company will not cover it.
The subsidies like living subsidy, food subsidy and laundry are not included in the tax package, which means you need not to pay tax on them.

The personal tax threshold is rmb4,800 (not sure) for forengners, but it will raise soon.
