The head of the International Monetary Fund, Dominique Strauss-Kahn has been accused of sexually attacking a hotel maid by the NYPD. The police say that the maid has formally identified Strauss-Kahn. Right now, he has been detained by the police.

Kahn is also considered as a possible Socialist candidate for the French presidency. The polls just indicate that he has a great chance of defeating President Nicolas Sarkozy.

Do you think he still can compete for the presidency? By the way, he has resigned as the IMF chief.

GUEST1145 He resigned but he denied all charges against him. Why did he resign if he didn't do something wrong?

The maid is said to have been affected with HIV virus. If he really raped her like she said, I woud say, he hit a big jackpot. He has been punished for what he has done.

GUEST3474 He has been bailed out and confined in a room with guards in New York. It is said that he will be free if he pays 1 million. The new chief will be elected on June 1. Who do you think will take his place, still a guy from Europe?

GUEST21453 It was a big fraud, and French people will not accept it and will be open in near future,” what was the actual story. It was totally a wrong tailor-made story against the people of France.

Do you mean he was set up? Then we can assume that it was Nicolas Sarkozy or the US. Sarkozy didn't want him to compete for the presidency with him and the US wants his man to be in charge of IMF. Reasonable? I do not think so.

Some othe sources claim that the female workers in IMF have been assaulted by their male leaders. "Latent rules"?

CNN has made a quick vote "Should the next IMF chief be European?" 54% people said "NO". But I just heard that the Financial Minister of the France probably had a great chance to win the election on June 1.

Who will win?

GUEST6150 Kevin, the voters do not have say on this issue. As the tradition requires, the IMF chief is an European. Most members of EU have said that they support the Financial Minister of France to be the successor because they need her to serve for EU.

The police has already found Dominique Strauss-Kahn's DNA sample and sperm on that waitress's clothes. The sound proof tells what he had done. Why does he still try to refuse?

GUEST12982 avatar - finding DNA evidence doesn't mean he's automatically guilty. She could have agreed to whatever, then changed her mind. It happens.
This is why a trial is needed, in court, not in the media.
