can you get to white cloud mountain by subway or not?

okay, I am in Guangzhou now. The page on White Cloud Mountain says you can get there from line 3, Meihuayuan station and walk 1200 meters. That is not far. Which way to turn from the station then? What road? But I see comments saying you cannot reach there by subway. So which is true?

GUESTDAVE I think the nearest subway to Baiyunshan Mountain is Xiaogang (萧岗). It is about 700 meters away to the west gate of Baiyun Mountain Scenic Area. You should get out from Exit A. But I'm not clear whih way to go after getting out. Hope there are some route indicators.
