It's said that mah-jong is kind of quintessence of Chinese culture. In China, almost everyone know how to play it. I could play it. However, it could be used for gambling too. So don't be addicted to it.

This guy is very hard-working. But I think that he will be frustrated after learning that people in different regions play mah-jong differently. How could he remember the rules?

It is about memory and luck. Some people can remember the tiles and then they can calculate how to get the tiles they need.
