Zhangjaijie is where Avata was filmed and the two two locations are on opposite sides of the valley. You can also get in and out by train but it's hard to get tickets. Other wise bus or fly. I'm not clear if you are allowded to ride a bike there. But I know a road cycling was held on Tianmen Mountain in 2008. Maybe you could consult the site authority at 86-744-8369999 to get the first-hand info.

I am afraid that you can't cycle up Tianmen Mountain. The scenic spot has its own environment-friendly cars. Private cars and other vehicles are not allowed to enter the scenic area.

However, cycling competition is held sometimes in the scenic area. During that time, the competitors can cycle on the wanding roads to win the champion.
