| It depends on your standards... if you consider it just as a 1st step in building-up your carrier, then it might be acceptable... 60k per year is 5k per month - that's quite low for foreign employee in big city such as Guangzhou... But, it depends on your expectations & standards, and I don't know if your employer is local or foreign firm, is it negotiable, etc... Western expats pay 5-10k just for rent in luxury condos but their salary is 20-30k at least... When I arrived Guangzhou first time my budget was low so I was satisfied with older flat for 1-2k rent - if you are OK with that, then rest of 3-4k will be survivable since Guangzhou living cost (food/utilities) is cheap... I considered that just as 1st step, as I planned to develop my carrier and connections within upcoming years (which is quite easy in a big city full of opportunities), and HongKong is near so Guangzhou is great place to start. I still keep one old flat in city center as mixed office/flat-share, message me for more details, or e-mail (gmail.com|sasa.cv). Cheers, Sasha/Alex HongKong-Guangzhou (gmail.com|sasa.cv) |
