Sang Lan, former Chinese gymnast who was paralyzed in 1998, has flied a lawsuit in the US against Ted Turner (the founder of the Goodwill Games), the former AOL Time Warner Inc. media company (owner of the games), USA Gymnastics who supported the event and the couple who were her guardians in New York. Sang claimed that they didn’t keep their promises to care for her, causing her paralysis from the chest down ever since. And she was also the victim of improper sexual behavior in the couple’s family.

The accident happened 13 years ago. Why did she file a lawsuit now? She said that she wanted an explanation and to understand what happened that year. According to what she has found, it was not an accident. She fell and broke her neck just because she was distracted by someone who moved the mat when she was in the middle of the air.

GUEST8686 For some "unspeakable reasons", she has been silent for years. Now she decides to protect her rights via lawsuit. I heard that the defendants have agreed to compromise (giving Sang Lan a large amount of money) and a doctor said that he witnessed Sang Lan was invaded by the man in Liu's family.

Sang Lan has lost too much. A fair judgement is her best comfort.
