The main part is a golden aluminum tube featuring a lace-like mesh with 8,000 holes that represent the number of bearers and how many miles it will travel in the 70-day relay across Britain The triangular shape of the torch symbolizes the three times the British capital will have staged the Summer Olympics, after the 1908 and 1948 London Games.
