| Hi there, Im travelling from Mongolia to Germany with an 11 hour layover in Beijing. I am an Irish citizen with an Irish passport. Do I need a visa to leave the airport to sightsee? From Germany, I am flying back to Ireland but it is not on the same itinerary as my mongolian flight. I have confirmation of the flight back from Germany to Ireland. thanks! |

| Yes, you need a visa to leave the Beijing airport for sightseeing. If you really don't have time to get a China transit visa from China embassy in Mongolia, you can try to apply for 24 hours stay permit at Beijing airport, please show your confirmed flight ticket (or e-ticket) from Mongolia to Germany. If you can't get 24 hours stay permit, you can leave the airport to visit Beijing. |
