The speed and ticket prices of the high speed trains to drop from July 1, 2011

According to Wuhan Railways Bureau, the Wuhan-Guangzhou high speed trains will run at the speed of 300 kilometers and 250 kilometers per hour from July 1, 2011. The ticket prices will be reduced too.

Adjusted ticket prices:
G trains (300 kilometers per hour):
Wuhan to Guangzhou South Railway Station: CNY 465 for the second class and CNY 740 for the first class.

Wuhan to Changsha South Railway Station: CNY 165 for the second class and CNY 265 for the first class.

D trains (250 kilometers per hour):
Wuhan to Guangzhou South Railway Station: CNY 330 for the second class, CNY 530 for the first class, CNY 595 for the special class and CNY 990 for sightseeing seats.

Wuhan to Changsha South Railway Station: CNY 110 for the second class, CNY 180 for the first class, CNY 200 for the special class and CNY 335 for sightseeing seats.

Please note that D trains almost stops at every railway station and cost much more time than G trains.

The high speed trains between Zhengzhou and Xian will run according to the new operating map adopted on July 1, 2011. The speed and the ticket prices will both drop from then on.

Ticket prices fro Zhengzhou-Xian high speed trains:
G trains (300 kilometers per hour): CNY 370 for first class and CNY 230 for the second class
D trains (250 kilometers per hour): CNY 250 for the first class and CNY 155 for the second class.

Good news. But there is no D trains between Xian and Luoyang. I may still travel by those normal trains, which is much cheaper.

There are some ordinary trains from Xian to Luoyang. Compared with the G/D trains, they are cheaper but the conditions are not as good as G/D trains.

Not that often, but several times each year. I'm there to visit my uncle and aunt.
