Voting without time limit Note: Guest voter(s) are not displayed here. You know what? They both are “noise machines”. Not only me but also Ian Ritchie (the chief executive of the All England Lawn and Tennis Club Wimbledon) can not bear tennis players’ grunting. He said that officials would prefer to see less grunting in an interview with The Daily Teleraph He also blamed younger players, whom he said suffered from an “education problem” about the issue. What about you? Can you bear it?

The loudest known grunt came from Maria Sharapova, who sent the sound monitor into new realms with a recording of 105 decibels in 2009. You may hear the sound when the plan lands. Sharapova is as loud as a plane.

It really is annoying. There may be a physiological explanation for that. I mean the way you breathe can influence either positively or negatively when doing something with maximum power output. For example weight lifters need to learn the right way to breathe. So perhaps it comes from that with tennis players. As annoying as it is we must remember that pro tennis is not a hobby any more, it is a sport that is played by 100% athletics and everything that may make one a better player must be used. Or humble oneself to be number two forever. Carlos

Sharapova just said "It's not the first time that I have heard about it" when someone asked about her gruntings. I definitely can't bear it. Once I was surprised by her gruntings when I watched her match on TV. I can't imagine how the audience reacted.
