when i go to beijing, i see many mopeds, we call them that in uk

not a bicycle... you pedal, then the motor starts VERY QUIET...what are they called? I cannot understand where the power comes from

they are not scooters or motor bikes. normal size wheels. I cannot see a big battery... all a mystery. There are plenty of them.

We call it electrical bicycle. It is powered by electricity. The battery is in the silver box of this one.

regret no.... they look like bicycles, they are so common. I could not see ant battery pack any way. youy pedal then a motor starts. THEY ARE VERY QUIET... a real mystery what they are called. there are millions on the streets

they look like mopeds, but not small wheels--- very little signs of a motor... they pedal and then something starts,,,, very quiet... the backwheel hub is large...i cannot see a battery pack... all a mystery. They must get power from somwher

Perhaps something like this? Here it is simply an electric bike.

It is possible to have 70 or even 90% help, but it always needs you to do some of the work. The battery is Panasonic and here it costs about 1500 euros.

Older people likes it very much.

1500 euros. It's toooooooo expensive. The moter bike shown in Kevin's reply just costs around CNY 2000-3000.
