How good is train journey from Kunming to Guangzhou

How is the train journey from Kunming to Guangzhou? I am a male tourist would come to Kunming on 12th Aug 2011 and willing to travel to Guangzhou by train. Will it be safe and comfortable?

Safe won't be a problem. Comfort? Don't expect it too much. It's on the train, not a hotel room. You'd better get yourself a sleeper seat. It will be much better. This is what sleepers look like on a train: http://community.travelchinaguide.com/photo-album/show.asp?aid=1299
