Wonder why tube dresses are called tube dress?

So, I was in my room today, wearing a tube dress and I suddenly think of something peculiar.. I just wonder why tube dress is so called tube dress..? So I made a little research.. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tube_top this is courtesy of Wikipedia.. lol..
