Sanya at middle of October

Hi,
I thought to go to Sanya for 4 days at the middle of this October.
is it good time to go to Hainan ? I understand that July-October is the typhoon season and I'm a bit afarid to go there and have stormy wather.
also is Sanya is the most recomended place for nice beaches, or are there any other recomndations to other places having clear blue water and white sand ?
