I am an Indian working in Korea. And already booked the ticket from Seoul to Beijing on 9th sept. I just obtain the information that the alien card needs to have 6 months availability for China visa application. Anyone knows anyway I can make my china trip with the following conditions?
- my alien card has 2 and half months before expired
- I have visited china in 2009 march, which is 2 and half year ago.
- currently I am in seoul
- and more important I need to go to beijing to visit my girlfriend.

GUEST3895 You can apply for China visa through China embassy in seoul directly, please don't use the travel agency because it will ask you to provide the alien registration card with at least 6 months validity.

You need to prepare the following documents:
1. your passport
2. filled visa application forms V.2011A and V.2011B
3. one passport photo
4. the alien card and its copy
5. copy of previous China visa
6. round-trip flight tickets
7. hotel bookings

GUESTMINH Dear Friends,
I have a same problem. Now I am Vietnamese student studying in Taegu, Korea. I've already bought the airplane ticket to China on Oct 30, 2011 for Conference in Shanghai . However, when I went to the travel agency to make visa, they said I could not get the visa because my alien card has 5 months availability. So, anyone knows how I can get the visa to China?? Thanks

The embassy requires that ARC card should at least have 6 months validity. I think that you can not apply your visa in South Korea. You may try it in Hong Kong.

GUEST76132 There are many westerners (american, canadian, british, australian) working in korea and would like to travel to china during our vacation. we encounter the same problem that we must have more than six months on our alien card. many of us would like to travel at the end of our contract when our card expires but the current rules do not allow us.
The chinese government needs to decide if it wants out tourism dollars and foreign currency. Its much easier for us to travel to thailand or vietnam which have no such restrictive rules. Its too costly to make a special trip to Hong Kong to get the visa so many of us just goto somewhere else in Asia instead for our vacation

GUEST52168 In my opinion, having been to a few countries, China isn't that great of a place to visit compared to Thailand, Korea, Japan, Singapore, Taiwan, etc.
Having traveled, lived and worked in Asia for a few years this is just my opinion.
