| My hometown is Baoji, a city about 170 kilometers to Xi’an, the capital city of Shaanxi Province. When I was a little girl, my dad and mom brought me to have breakfast outside. I still remembered that my favorite breakfast was Dou Hua Pao Mo (Boiled baked wheat cake in Tofu puddings). The cook boiled sliced baked wheat cake in bean-milk for a while, poured it into a bowl and put hot tofu puddings (jellied beancurd) on it. Then he poured some bean milk in to the bowl and seasoned with salt and red chili oil. Mouthwatering! I usually ordered a small dish of pickles and ate it with Dou Hua Pao Mo. Unfortunately, I can’t find it in Xian. The Mid-Autumn Festival is coming soon. I have decided to have my Dou Hua Pao Mo after I get back home. |
