Hi. You can go to the ticketoffice of China Southern Airlines, next to the railway station, and take an airport express there. it leaves every 20-30 minutes and cost 16 rmb. yan

The buses leave pretty early in the morning, I'm guessing at 5 am or so. and you don't need to book the ticket in advance, just buy it on the bus. cheers, yan

Is it smart to take a taxi from the Airport to the city? How long does it take? Is the traffic terrible? What about getting some cash; are there any ATM-machines or money exchange at the airport? I am coming to Guangzhou (and China) for the first time in January 2006. I already have the tickets and I am really excited. :)

It costs CNY20 by shuttle bus while over CNY100 by taxi.

Thanks for that info. Could you tell me how long does it take from the airport to the city? For example to the Holiday Inn hotel (the address is HUANSHI DONG, 28 GUANGMING LU)?

In theory 15-20 minutes are enough but Huanshi Dong Road is always so crowded and traffic jam can be expected at any time... I m sorry to say this...but

| That's good to know, thanks. :) What about the money exchange? Is there one at the airport or is there possible an atm-machine where we could get some cash? I understood that credit cards (such as visa or american express) are not usual in China... By the way, if anyone wants to e-mail me and tell more about China and Guangzhou, my e-mail address is gmail.com|saara.myllyntausta |
