Hi,I'm thinking about visiting Qingdao in a couple weeks. I would like to bring my new laptop and some digital camera equipment with me.Is there a possibility my stuff may get confisgated at customs? If so, I will just leave them at home. Sorry for the naive question. I never been to China. Thanks

Hey, I didn't bring my laptop, but the digital cam was fine. I imagine laptops would be fine as well. I saw people carrying them. Remember, China is a huge business area of the world, so laptops are basically old school.

Hi, Ray:

I don't think there is any problems for u to bring them with u, as long as they r for ur personal usage, and not for business transactions. U may need to fill in a form to declare any electonic items u've got with u before u go through the Custom to enter the country. When u leave the country, the Custom may make sure that u r still having them.Apart from that, the only thing u need to do is to enjoy ur time in QD and China~! ^_^

Me and my girlfriend already entered and left China many times with a laptop and/or digital camera. You don't need to worry about it. Daily thousands of people enter and leave China with a laptop and digital camera.
