Help with train-Shanghai to Hanoi-Please

Thanks for the help. Traveling from Shanghai to Hanoi. Would like to train to Nanning, border cross, then I guess bus/train to Hanoi. What to expect and any details would really help. I read that the scenery is great. Thank you, Ron

Then you can take train from Nanning to Pingxiang, take a taxi to Youyiguan. There you can pass the border to reach Vietnam. Take a bus to Liangshan Bus Station. There you can take bus to Henei.

Or you can go to 埌东客运站 to take bus. It leaves at 8:40\9:30\10:00.
