Working in Zhuhai without a BA

guest36174	I want to move to Zhuhai with my family. I am a TESOL certified ESL teacher with 9 years teaching experience in Asia. I have lived in China twice before (9 years ago & 6 years ago). I have been informed that the government changed the visa requirements a few years back & now require ESL teachers to hold a BA in order to get a working visa etc. I have also been informed that ALOT of people are teaching in Zhuhai without a BA but have been unable to find out where this is taking place. If anyone knows of any schools in the area that are able to hire you & get you a proper working visa without holding a BA, please let me know asap. We are hoping to move in the next month or two. I assume you are native English?

English teaching jobs now require bachelors degree, TEFL/TESOL and usually 2 years teaching experience. Sometimes lower qualifications are accepted but usually for less desirable jobs (location) on lower pay. Zhuhai is not less desirable.

Private schools and colleges might offer work but probably with no Z visa. Without a Z visa you cannot get residence or work permit. It is illegal to work on an F or L visa.
