GUEST01104 A BA is sufficient but most teaching establishments require teaching qualifications (TEFL/TESOL) and usually 2 years teaching experience. English teachers are required to be native speakers as it is their pronunciation skills that are required, (and foreign teaching staff impress parents). However, if your English is flawless and you speak Chinese you may have an advantage.

Schools and colleges in less desirable locations may accept lower qualifications but with lower pay. If you are not a Chinese citizen ensure your prospective employer can provide a Z visa. It is illegal to work without one.
