I have just found out that we have to pay to get into the town, is that true, How much would it be then??

as far as I know. You don't have to pay to enter the city, but you have to pay to visit some of famous residences.

yes, you don't need to pay to get into the town, the tickets you mentioned are for visiting some museums and famouse residences.
