Hi,

I'm am traveling into Harbin on 11th January. I'm am traveling down to Zhuhai where I am enrolled onto a one month English teaching class. I have a single entry tourist visa which will expire on 10th February. What is my best option to get this visa extended or to get a new one? Ideally I would like it as quick as possible as I will be expected to be in class starting on 5th February.

Thanks for any suggestions.

GUEST7689 It is difficult for you to extend your visa in Zhuhai. I suggest you go to HK to apply for a new tourist visa and then get back to Zhuhai to teach lessons.

GUEST02166 As I only have a single entry tourist visa for China, I assume that means that I will have to stay in Hong Kong until a new visa is issued? What about Macau?

Yes, you have to stay in HK until you get the new visa. Since you are an Irish, you can stay in HK or Macau for 90 days without visa.

UMBANGO, I think you can get a new visa in Zhuhai, it is a large city with many expats AND it has the relevant govt office running the border crossing. I'll try to get definite info for u

Guest from Kosovo. You should be able to get a visa, but it is sometimes more difficult, you might have to supply prof of finances etc. It's a specialist question...seek out a Chinese Embassy or consulate in Kosovo, or if there isn't one perhaps you must enquire at a neighbouring country. Another option - do you have a Chinese community....if so go to a travel agent in that. Else ask at any travel agent...tho maybe only some can help.

Ubango, you can definitely get a new visa in Zhuhai. I am told that they always ask for proof of finances, though I have never been asked for this in any other city. If not sure where the office is, the major hotels will know and of course any police station.

Can we get rid of that last post please.... it's got nothing to do with this tread or forum, and quite honestly, it's offensive.
