From Hong Kong to Guangzhou Airport

ALBERTOPGC Points: Join Date: Dec 7, 2011 Status: offline	Hi, I am going to Hong Kong for a couple of days. After that, I am going to Zhangjiajie, but after checking all options I found a ticket from Guangzhou. I am wondering to know what is the best way to go from HK to Guangzhou Airport? If my flight is at 10.05pm, what time do you recommend me leaving? Thanks in advance for your help, Best, Alberto

Two ways:
1. take mtr to Lo Wu and pass the Luohu Border to reach Shenzhen, go to Shenzhen Luohu Railway Station to take D trains to Guangzhou East Railway Station and then take subway line 3 to Guangzhou Baiyun Airport.

2. take mtr to Hung Hom Railway Station. There you can take train from HK to Guangzhou East Railway Station and then take subway line 3 at Guangzhou East Railway Station to Guangzhou Baiyun Airport.

The first route is a bit cheaper but you may spend a bit long time to pass the Luohu Border. And you may not buy the train ticket at the Luohu Railway Station according to your schedule.

If you take the second route, I suggest you go a bit early because the first train starts at 12:14 in Hung Hom.

A variation to option 1 on the last reply is to take a bus from Shenzhen. As you exit the customs area and are into the open air, the bus station is immediately on the right. It's unusual for China in that you just walk around the buses and pay on board. I think the bay for Guangzhou has the name in western script. It's a useful option if all the trains are booked out, and it's cheaper but slower. I cannot remember where the bus usually goes to in Guangzhou, and in any case, you can never be sure!! But once in Gz, just get to any metro station (MTR) and take a metro chain to Baiyun.
