I and my team have won a competition and we are heading to Shanghai for the next round. This was organized by a business school in Shanghai. We are all students in a college from India and we were wondering whether the type of visa would be the Tourist Visa or the Business Visa. (We do have an invite from the school for the event) My travel agent tells me that the embassy decides what category you fall into and we cannot decide it before. Is that true ? Please help me out! thanks in advance

GUEST23478	According to what you said, you should apply for business visa. However, your invitation letter is from the school. I am not sure if you can get business visa successfully. Thus, you have three possibilities: 1 get a business visa successfully. 2 get a tourist visa successfully. 3 refused by the embassy. It's not very likely.
