Hi guys, I am considering moving to China from Australia for a (1) year. I am 21 years of age and do not hold any formal qualifications (e.g. university degree, TESOL) although I am fluent in English and speak fluent Chinese. My partner is a fitness instructor and also does not hold any formal qualifications. Will our chances of moving to China be denied because of this? I would like to apply for a Z Visa but am afraid I do not meet the requirements. Would anyone have any ideas/suggestions on any other ways I could go about moving to China to work/live?

To get Z visas you must have been accepted for jobs where the employer is certified to employ foreigners. Generally, they will require you to have a Bachelors, or the visa may be denied if you don't. Do some searches on the Net and you should find there are some teaching jobs/agencies where this is acceptable. Being fluent in Chinese might help you get a job but officially China does not need English Chinese bilinguals except for teaching. If you cannot get in through the front door you can try the back door :) Come as a tourist and then look for a job. Kindergarden teaching is the most obvious and there are often job vacancies. However, you might have to work in the grey area of an F visa, or even the black area of a tourist visa. I wonder if you are partly Chinese by background. If so I recommend playing this down with Kindie employers, the parents want westerners and that's what the employers will pay for!

Hi there, Thank you kindly for your reply, has been most helpful for me. Yes in fact i am part Chinese (chinese/russian) and understand that palying it down would be the best way, but unfortunalty you can look at me and clearly tell i'm of chinese background. But again, appreciate your reply and help with this

Hmmmm. I can only see yr TCG photo... sure you might look a bit Chinese, but as I said play it down :) You have a parent of Chinese background born or raised in the UK.. With the blonde hair and a good pommie accent.... go as a tourist and get a kindie or language centre job. Just do it! as the advert says. And good luck
