guest4285 Wealthy Chinese prefer to buy luxurious things abroad. According to Daily Mail, wealthy Chinese people have accounted for almost a third of post-Christmas Purchases of high end goods such as Burberry, Louis Vutton and Gucci. The British media gives a nickname to those wealthy people “Peking Pound”, referring to those wealth Chinese people who spend a lot of money buying luxurious things abroad.

The luxury stores love ‘Peking Pound’ because they can bring them money. Many luxury stores in the UK and US try every way to serve ‘Peking Pound’ like hiring Chinese-speaking staff and starting accepting China UnionPay cards.

According to a local salesman in the airport tax free shop, ‘Peking Pound’ emptied the shelves during the Spring Festival. Unbelievable! No wonder Mr. Obama said that the procedure to apply for the USA visa will be simplified and more visa officers will be assigned to the USA embassy and consulates to China.

I’d like to hear your opinion on the ‘Peking Pound’. Are they a bunch of crazy shoppers?
