How to get a multi-entry visa for longer (currently already in China)
Mar 5, 2012 07:51
gueststudent894 I applied for 2 year multiple entry and they gave me 6 month 2 entry...why 2 entries?! Obnoxious if you ask me.

That being said, I'm studying abroad in Shanghai until July and my visa expires August, but my flight back isn't until mid-August ish and I plan on traveling and going out of the country and whatnot, preferably more than once in these next few months.

How do I get an actual multiple entry visa that will last for longer? I have an F visa right now I think but I can get a tourist visa right?

Thanks in advance!

Last Guest: If you are a genuine student you should have been on an X visa and now on a temporary residence permit which is in practice a multiple entry visa.

An F visa is not normally for more than 1 year but can be multiple entry.

You are on an F visa now.... to get multiple entry you will need another F visa as you cannot get a multiple entry visa within China, nor in counytries where you do not have some right of residence.

if you get another visa now it will of course replace your existing visa. If you are so keen to get a multi entry visa I suggest you contact a visa agent as thy can often achieve outcomes which are apparently not permitted! But you will pay a substantial fee.

You might also like to consider changing your attitude to be more courteous: what seems like obnoxious to you is a sovereign country applying its rules and has every right to do so. In fact China is on of the most generous countries in issuing visas... ask Chinese people how easy it is to get a visa to the US, Australia or Europe.
