The British Home Offiice has put forward a new measure recently. According to this measure, all foreign athletes, coaches and members of deligations who participate in the London Olymplics will not be allowed to get married during their stay in the UK.

According to BBC, more than 20000 participants from all over the world (except EU member countries) will take part in the London Olympics. All of them will be granted with a six months visa during the London Olympics. However, they will not be allowed to get married or hold any civil partnership ceremony in the UK during their stay.

It ams to prevent illegal immigrants and terrorists entering the UK during the London Olympic Games. The UK Border Agency has already informed all the Olympic deligations from 204 countries of ensuring their members have enough money to pay for the cost and return tickets.

In 2002, nearly 30 members of a deligation of Sierra Leone disappeared in the UK during the Commonwealth Games. Last year, two 16 years old athletes of Cameroon disappeared at the Manchester Airport after they competed at Commonwealth Youth Games.

PS: People who are on the UN and EU travel ban lists will be automatically refused to enter the UK during the 16 days long Olympic Games.
