Travel from HKIA to Huanggang

hi there,

I would like to find out what's the best way to travel from HKIA to Shenzhen via Huanggang? Will it be safer and faster at the customs clearance?

Or will going via the usual HKIA to Shenzhen (via Lo Wu) still be better?

If there is a cost difference, please kindly advise me as well as I'm on a tight budget.

I have taken the Mainland coach from HKIA for HKD100 which takes me to Huanggang, and then RMB60 by car into Luohu. You could go cheaper if you take the bus into the city but I've never done that before so not sure how much.

Alternatively, taking the airport express from HKIA to Hung Hom is HKD120 (i think), then another HKD80 by train to Luohu. Followed by another transfer to where you want to go exactly. I think this costs a little more and is a roundabout way to get into SZ.

As for speed, Huanggang can be crazy at times. I've spent almost 1 hour trying to get through customs there once, on a weekend. If you do go, try to be there as early as possible, and preferably not on weekends.
