| I am going to visit my daughter next month, who was awarded a 12 month scholarship by the Chinese goverment to study at Wuhan University. Is it a travel visa or a tourist visa that I need to apply for or are they the same, also do I need a letter of invitation from my daughter? Is it ok to apply for one over the internet or should I go to one of the Chinese embassies that we have here in England? Thank you for your help |

| Yes you need a tourist visa to enter China regardless of who you will visit. a letter from your daughter stating her position and desire to have you visit will make it easier fro you to apply for your visa. You can down load the application forms from the website and follow their instructions for lodging it. You may be able to mail it I doubt you can do it online. Be careful to send the correct fees and postal and handling fees if you choose to process by mail. |
