GUEST26253 Myself I used a much different method in order to learn mandarin chinese fast. 1st of all I used to listen to chinese music every evenings to familiarize myself with the sounds of the language. But not some lousy old song but really good modern chinese songs. They are usually more slow than music from the west so easier to follow the lyrics.

Mandarin Chinese is indeed an english which is easier to learn for auditive learners.

Then I took few courses and tried to use it everywhere I can (mostly during my stays in China). Anyway, fast, I was able to understand basic.

While I kept listening to chinese music durin my leasure time, I started to watch movies with english subtitles and then after 1 year I moved to CCTV...

GUEST99218 Learn Chinese is very helpful. Please consider a translation of English words to Chinese characters and a voice or sound option for characters or words. Thank you.
