Hi People,

Please let me know if you have some practical advice for the following solution:

I'm a Chinese-American, with American passport. Because of various complications I overstayed my "L" visa to China 100+ days a few months ago (I entered on a "Z" visa, but the job didn't work out so I never attained a residence permit) I paid the fine exited to Hong Kong. The Chinese consulate was hesitant but eventually gave me a 15 day visa to re-enter and exit properly.

Then, I decided to stay in HK. In my job/school search, I completely slept through the last entry date for the L-Visa! I just discovered today its 10 days expired. I want to apply for another L-visa to clear my record. What should I expect from the consulate?

Thanks,

GUESTALVIN The Chinese consulate was hesitant but eventually gave me a 15 day visa to re-enter and exit properly?? what is this mean? Is this from the PSB within China mainland? I think it should be 15 days for leaving only, right?
Now, you can try to apply for a new L visa in HK through the Office of the Commissioner of the Ministry of China Foreign Affairs.
