there is no restriction. You can enjoy 72 hours free transit in Beijing when you meet all the requirements (onward air tickets in 72 hours and visa for your destination if required).

I don't think you can do that because the place of departure and destination are the same.

GUESTCTE Hi, I'm holder of APEC Traveler Card, do I need to apply China Entry Visa, was informed that APEC (Asean Pacific Economy Cooperation does not need Visa when visiting Asean countries and permitted to 30 days duration of stays).
