Z VISA to work in China for 12 Months
Jun 4, 2012 13:08
guestMichael Hi Guys
I have been flipping through this forum for information on Z Visa, I was hoping if anyone can take a look at my summary and confirm that I didn't miss anything.

I am a Canadian citizen and is looking for employers in China that would hire me for 12 month contracts. So once I get a job offer from the employer here are the following procedures that I should follow:

1. Employer apply and send me Employment Licence and Visa Notification Letter
2. Use the above to apply for a Z Visa from within Canada
3. Upon arrival in China, I need to take the Full Medical Exam
4. Take the result from the Medical Exam to apply for a Residency Permit

Could anyone confirm this? Much appreciated!

GUEST7837 Yes, you know clearly about the Z visa application.

One thing you have to know is that the Z visa is valid for only 30 days from the date of arrival during which time you and your employer must seek a Temporary Residence Permit for the duration of your contract, to a maximum of 12 months.

GUEST64234 You don't mention what kind of job. It is almost impossible to work in China unless you have a "Special Skill", which means one that a Chinese worker cannot do. Usually this means teaching a language which is your native tongue.
