China - Internship on business visa followed by tourism?

guest69215	I am hoping to take a gap year in China, spending the first 4 months doing an English-teaching internship. The internship would be on an F business visa and the company will help me with that. The problem is, after the internship, I was hoping to travel and do some tourism around China. But my F visa is for 6 months and that's not enough time. Is it possible to extend an F business visa for travelling to 12 months, or do I need to apply for an L tourist visa after the internship? Would I need to leave the country to get a new visa? Also, the duration of stay on some visas in only about 30 or 60 days, is there any way to travel in China for the entire length of the visa, or do I have to leave the country after each month or so before returning to continue? It is possible to change F visa to L, but may not be 12 month L as you wish. Generally, you will be given a 30 days L visa with no entry if you submit your application to PSB. So, if you want to travel about 6 months after internship in China, you are suggested to apply for a multiple entry tourist visa in HK (I am not clear what passport do you hold, people from some countries are banned to do this). About visa duration, generally they issue 30 days, 60 days and 90 days. You need to leave and reenter to activate the duration of another entry. There is no such visa that allows to stay the entire length of the visa. Unless you work in China on a valid temporary residence permit.

GUEST64234	If you get an L (tourist) visa which is usually 30 days I believe you can extend it twice without leaving the country. After that you would need to leave (perhaps to Hong Kong) to apply for a new L visa.
