Conversion of X visa to L or F visa

guest82593 Hi everyone,

I have been a student in China for a few years as a student under X visa. Now that I have completed my studies and my X visa is expiring next month I am thinking of ways to getting an extension of my visa. I just need an extension for a month and I dont mind the type of visa issued. I am planning on travelling around China for a month.
Could anyone advise of i could get an extension applying on my own? Any extra documents needed? Any advise or recommendation will be highly appreciated. Thank you

You can apply for your visa extension on your own at local PSB. The procedure is not difficult since you only need one month tourist visa. It is also what they usually issue to foreigners (holders of Z/F/L visa if they want their visa to be extended for more time) in China.
Requirements are your passport with current visa, temporary residence permit, photo and application form for visa extension. And better prepare a paper supporting reasons for extension.

ask your school to give you a certificate explaning why you need a one month visa.then take this certificate to the local PSB.
