| guest2713 | Hey there, i heard that chinese people need to have around 50,000RMB in their bank account to travel, is this true? Thing is, i want to go with my wife to the U.S. but heard that we need to save lots of money (which the government will keep then) I also heard of 150,000RMB but not sure. |

Some countries require the Chinese visa applicants to offer certificate of deposit account balance. It is usually below RMB 50000 per person. You have to understand that the government doesn't keep your money. Your money will be frozen by the bank until you get back. Are you all Chinese? I have heard that the US embassy doesn't require the certificate of deposit account balance. Instead, you have to offer a record of your all money moving in and out in recent six months. If you join a Chinese agency to travel abroad, the agency usually asks you to hand in a certain of money as deposit. when you come back, you will get back your deposit. |

| GUEST71188 | Many western countries want to know that a single foreign female will return to her country before the expiry of a tourist visa. She may have to have a substantial deposit in a bank account, own property and/or have a job to return to to satisfy the requirement. |
