So I just wanted to pass this information on to others! The new rule being rolled out is that if you are a foreigner you can no longer get married in the capital city of the province from which your Chinese partner is from. YOU MUST GO TO THE CITY WHERE THEY ARE REGISTERED, i.e. their home town or the closest city to it. So we couldn't get married in Guangzhou, we had to go to where he was registered in Meizhou, which is a few hours from his actual home village. GUEST24230	Hi buddy Congrats on your marriage. I am an Indian and getting married to my Fancee who is from chonqging. As per instructions I have obtained a single status certificate from my embassy in Guangzhou. The document is is English.how do I get it notarized by a Chinese authority so I can go to chonqging and register our marriage there? Thanks in advance... Ankur

GUEST17115	24230, Go to a certified translator, or ask at the Chinese consulate for instructions. Both copies, the English and the Chinese, have to be ceritied.
