Urumqi to host Chinese-Foreign Culture Week from Aug. 25 to Sept. 7

The 2nd China-Eurasia Expo will be held in Urumqi, Xinjiang Autonomous Region from Sept. 2 to 7. As an important part of the China-Eurasia Expo, Chinese-Foreign Culture Week will be held in Urumqi from Aug.25 to Sept. 7.

The art exhibitions and dance performances from China and other Eurasian countries will be held in Urumqi during the culture week. Tourists can go there for a visit if they are interested in art and dance.

1. The Opening Ceremony of Russia, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Kirghizstan Art Superfines Exhibition

When: 11:00 (Beijing Time), Sept. 1, 2012
Where: Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region Museum (581, Xibei Road, Urumqi)

Note: The exhibition lasts from Sept. 1 to 7

2. The 1st Xinjiang Modern Art Biennale
When: Aug. 25 to Oct. 8, 2012
Where: Xinjiang Art Center (formally called Xinjiang International Expo Center) located at No.3, Hongguangshan Road, Urumqi

3. Silk Road Art Works Exhibition
When: Sept. 1 to 7, 2012
Where: 4th Hall, B Section, Creative Industry Area at Qifang Street

4. Serbian Ballet Performance
When: 21:00 on Sept. 3 and 4, 2012
Where: Xinjiang People’s Theatre located at No. 17, Renmin Road

5. A Performance from Xinjiang Art Theatre Song and Dance Ensemble
When: 21:00, Sept. 2, 2012
Where: Xinjiang People’s Assemble Hall located at No.45, Youhao North Road

6. Muqam’s Spring, a performance from Xinjiang Muqam Art Troupe
When: 21:00, Sept. 3 and 4, 2012
Where: Xinjiang Muqam Art Theatre
