| From Nov. 1, 2012, New Administrative Measures on Quarantine of Articles Carried by Entry and Exit Passengers will take effect. Compared with the old version, the new measures regulate inward passengers are forbidden to bring the following items into China, included are edible bird’s nest (canned cooked bird's nest are not included), fresh fruit and vegetables, GM agricultural products, earth and rare animals and plants. On the other hand, the inward passengers are only allowed to bring dogs and cats into China. Each passenger is allowed to bring one pet into China. Detailed regulations as follows: No.1 pets from hydrophobia stricken countries will be quarantined at designated area for 30 days. No.2 pets from non-hydrophobia stricken countries will be quarantined at designated area for 7 days. No.3 pets like working dogs are exempted from quarantine if related training certificates are offered. No.4 pet carriers have to offer valid official quarantine and vaccine inoculation certificates issued by exporting country or region. No. 5 pets should have ID chips or other kinds of valid identity documents. |
