Built in 1930, Chongqing Mansions is a landmark building located at the southeast corner of Fuxing Lu and Chongqing Nan Lu. This building is a classic example of vintage art deco Shanghai architecture, with high (4.5 meter!) ceilings, mosaic tile and wood parquet floors. The building faces Fuxing Park and also has a large private green space behind it. Across the street is the Sinan Mansions development, and Xintiandi is two blocks away. The Line 10 Xintiandi metro stop is two blocks away, less than five minutes’ walk. The whole building is peaceful and surprisingly well preserved. The neighbors have lived here forever and are very quiet. The apartment includes a large central room, an attached private bathroom, kitchen, private back stairwell, and foyer entryway with two large closets. It has a lot of storage space in every room. Vintage 1930s design includes transom windows above all the doors. Each room has three transoms, allowing a continual flow of fresh air to circulate through the space.
