I always heard that many of my friends told me that you are handling your time by yourself, you work for yourself and you are your own boss. Yes, as a freelance interpreter in Shenzhen I am my own boss. And it is true that I don’t have a boss now and it is also true that when I work for some companies I thought the same. But after I have been a freelance interpreter, I suddenly realize that this is not paradise position, I had someone even worse than my boss and that is my clients. Before, I only work for my boss and I feel safe when he satisfied my work only. But after being an interpreter in Shenzhen, whenever I had a client, I never feel satisfied about what I was doing and I always want to make it better to satisfy my clients. Every time I translated their words, I try to find some better words for the situation, every time I guide them I want to show them the best place. Yes it is true that I don’t have any boss now, but I have someone more serious than bosses, and they are my clients.
