| Lion Ancient City, with a history of over 1000 years, is an underwater site in Thousand Islets Lake (Qian Dao Lake) in China’s Zhejiang Province. It was submerged in September 1959 when building a hydropower station. Fortunately, it is preserved well and the local government is thinking to develop it into an attraction site. Would you like to pay a visit when it is opened to public? Currently, people have thought out three ways to visit this underwater city: by submarine, which is not yet approved by the authority due to protection reasons; by Archimedes Bridge, which is still under experiment; through an IWERK Theatre, expected to be finished next year. |
