I got an offer from a multinational company in China to work as Engineer. As what I know, the first step is the company has to secure documents in China before I can apply for Z visa in my current country of residence. Just today I was surprised the recruiter informed me that the government can't "process" my Philippine passport. If I were a Malaysian or Singaporean, it would be OK. Is there such a policy? Unfortunately the recruiter that I'm talking to is not quite familiar on hiring expats.

Hi, it might be true they can not get work permit issued by the related department under current situation. Or maybe your company is not able to hire foreign employee. You can confirm this again with the company first.
