| Wan, Daily conversations also need a variety of vocabularies. What we learn from the books are totally out of date. Watching some English movies is really good. Of course, you shouldn't just watch them for fun. You have to focus on how they speak in different scenarios. |

Retain the new words in our memoryWan Wan, I have forgotten many words that I learnt in college. By the way, I can't remember new words. What should I do? Wan, I am still on my new year vacation. Tomorrow I have to go back to work. Sigh! The holiday is too short. I don't want to leave home now. |

I think this open forum may provide you an opportunity to practise your English. Some graduates with English major, due lack of practise can't really use, not only proper English, but even simple sentences. Both of us aren't English native speakers, and we know our constraints and limitations. For the New Year, I have only four days of official leave thus couldn't go anywhere. For the family dinner we had seafood steamboat (like hotpots). I will have my "postponed" holiday on March 7th until March 17th, as the days are also too short, I will only be around Shenzhen, Guangzhou and Shanghai. Wan |

| When you barely use them, then you may forget. I totally agree with you. I write reports in Word and then print them out. I barely write with my hands. I have forgotten many Chinese words. The only three Chinese characters that I won't forget is my name. |

| I seldom use English except when I go to TCG. Most of the time, I'd use Malay language as mode of communication. Although I have acquired some other languages too but due to lack of practice, they are all rusted and forgotten. Starting middle of January 2014, I promise my niece who is a Putonghua laoshi, that I will start to learn the basic of pronunciation and we will have a proper class with 7 others to join during weekends.
