Inexpensive Airfares from Canada to Beijing

I am planning a trip to Northeastern China in May
or June. I am a university student and my funds
are limited. Does anyone know where to get
cheap airfares from either Toronto or Montreal to
Beijing. Also what is Air China International's
safety record?

We stayed at two hostels last April in Beijing. The Zhaolong Hostel at http://www.hostelbooking.com/ibnpub/english/static/hostel_hostelwithrooms_template.asp?id=24508&country= and the Far East Hsotel.
I strongly preferred the Far East Hostel for its location, services and neighborhood.
