Hello, I am traveling from Sheung Wan, Hong Kong to Crowne Plaza Hotel in Foshan during end of March 2013. My group is 2 adults and 2 small children with 2 large suitcases. My main concern is my ability to keep track of my luggage and children while crossing through customs & immigration, which I have heard can be a long and crowded walk & line up.
Please could you provide some advice on whether to travel by bus or train?
I understand there is a direct bus from HK/Macau Ferry terminal in Sheung Wan to my hotel in Foshan. However I also understand there is a crazy customs crossing required in Shenzhen. I am very nervous about this.
Therefore is it preferable to take MTR / Taxi to Hung Hom then train to Foshan railway station, followed by taxi to Foshan hotel? Will the customs process at HK and Foshan train stations be much more manageable?
Please understand from perspective of 2 adults and 2 small children with 2 large suitcases.
Thank you smart advisors for your assistance very much!!

Considering of your situation, train from HK to Foshan is the best choice. As long as your documents are ok, you won't have any problem. By the way, train is unlike the bus. You needn't get off to go through the customs. You just need to be checked at HK and Foshan Railway Station.
